COLBI - Clinique d’ophtalmologie et laser de Beauce

Glaucoma tracking software

This novel tracking tool digitalizes glaucoma patient medical files and facilitates standardization of clinical data acquisition. Using only two or three screens a detailed view of clinical information and images are obtained. The software helps facilitate our efforts to meet the Canadian Glaucoma Guidelines (revised in 2004). In all cases of OHT a percentage is generated showing the five year risk of progress for each individual glaucomatous eye.

The software clearly and concisely allows the user to view complete clinical history, clinical data and patient follow up.

  • Intra ocular pressure and associated medications is graphically displayed thus offering the ophthalmologist a clear view of the patient’s progress.
  • On the same screen you can observe patient ocular history, systemic disease profile, family history, allergies and medicinal side effects.
  • The use of « POP-Ups » allow you to consult contraindications for many eye medications.

With the click of the mouse the user can display individual visual fields and corresponding optic disk photos. Images are imported from the HRT, OCT and other diagnostic equipments using an image processing software using the "Print Screen" or "copy and paste" function.

For patients undergoing surgical procedures and glaucoma laser procedures the data is added to the graph. SLT treatment details and results can be compiled and the user’s results can be compared against published outcomes. This is particularly useful when the user is looking for a time saving way to maximize laser outcomes. Also, the software provides the user with several statistical analyses of the outcomes data both medically and pharmaceutically. To our knowledge, no current software marketed today offer this kind of comprehensive glaucoma patient management tool. With a simple glance the ophthalmologist can observe medical and surgical outcomes and follow-up of glaucoma patients over several years.
